The Swine virus.

Yes I have heard about this. But I just don’t understand why everyone is so scared of this I mean its just like the regular flu. We have had 55 people die of the regular flu and no one was worried then. Why worry now about this virus? When I’ve only heard of one person. I’m not trying to be mean about any of this but this is how I feel. Just like any other little virus that could kill someone yeah right like they would be worried about that and make a big deal about it. NO they wouldn’t. We should be more worried about other things instead of worrying about this virus. We should be worried about trying to stop people from drinking and driving we have had so may wrecks and deaths because of drunks. We should worry about if it is safe to be in our own neighborhood or if our children are safe to go outside without someone getting killed or kidnaped.

The 3R’s Challenge..

Recycling involves processing used materials into new products in order to prevent the waste of potentially useful materials. One way I recycle materials at home are we separate our trash before the garbage man comes. Another way we recycle at home is sending our recycling objects to the recycling place. Reduce means to cut down on, and to make a reduction of something. We cut down on how much water and electricity we use in our home by when brushing our teeth we don’t leave the sink on, we taking a shower or bath we get what needs to be done and get out instead of just staying in because it feels good.Reuse is using an item more than once. In my home we love reusing things. Why throw things away when you can reuse it for something else. The tubs the butter, whipped cream, and ice cream, all of those things we reuse them to put extra food in or to freeze things, or to use for our animals water bowl. Now when it comes to school we don’t do many of these things at all. I try to reuse paper as long as I can.

Issues dealing with the INTERNET.

One issue is students staying up late and not studying for their school work. There are many other issues like talking to people you don’t know anything about. There are so many perverts out their in this world and they are sick. That is why when I have my own site I make it private so only my friends can see it and no one else. But it’s not always save even if it private. Some one could tap into your computer and figure out your password. It is very scary these days you never know if you are talking to someone you know or if its someone who just found a picture and are acting like your friend. On the internet now days if you know the persons hole name you can type it in and find out how to get to their house and where they live. Anyone could go on map quest and look up where they want to go and there it is they know how to get their what roads to take everything. There are also a lot of bully’s on the internet they try to scare you about anything they can. I love being on the internet but this stuff scares me a lot. I told my teacher just a minute ago that when I get home I am going on my MYSPACE and making sure I know all my friends, making sure its all set to private, and making sure my full name Is not on their any where. I just hate how now days any body and get on a computer and find out something about someone that they don’t even know. Like you can type in someone’s phone number and find out what service they are with and who they are and where they live with just that little information so please be careful when you are on the internet talking to people or e-mailing them or any of those things. Another issue is Copyright. A lot of people will download lime wire or i tunes or something like that and copy the songs onto other CD’s. Some people pay for it but it’s still copyright. Another way is copying a picture that is copyrighted. There are many other things but these are the main ones that I wanted to talk about. So please be careful everyone.

YaY it’s Friday ..

I just wanted to post a blog on something I wanted to post about. We are having a Prom in April and I am so excited except I have to wear a dress. It is very pretty I may take a picture and upload it on here one of these days. After Prom we are going out to a place where we go mud riding on four-wheelers. I know I am always talking about going mudriding I just can’t help it because it is so fun. Now in my English class we are now reading a novel called Tess OF THE D’URBERVILLES, by Thomas Hardy. So far it is a good book I don’t read very much but when I have to in English class I do like to read some of those Novels. If you ever want to read a novel this one would be a great one to choose. Some of the words he uses in the book are a little bit hard to understand so you may want to have a dictionary with you when you are reading so you can understand what going on.

My Reflection

The first challenge I had to do was write telling things about myself.  Then the second challenge was to make a avatar and that was pretty fun. So far I have liked the challenges because they have been easy to do and not very hard but I am looking forward to more challenges.

MY MOVIE

Well we have been working on making a movie in class with our groups. I didn’t think I would like because I don’t like to be on camera. I learned a lot about video cameras. I learned how you can video from different angles. We had to get in our groups and come up with a story board and go over it then go out around our school and film. I didn’t think I would have fun with the people that was in my group but I ended up having a lot of fun and learning while I was having fun.

I played the part where the guy was cheating on his girlfriend with me. I thought filming about this would show some people that cheaters do get caught sometimes and it’s not good to do it. We tried to make it a little bit funny and everyone thought it was. The first one that we shot was alright but then we learned more about it and added to it. But I really enjoyed doing this project and I think if you were to try it you would like it and have fun doing it also.

Valentines Day is coming up….

Well I wanted to post about Valentines Day. I’m so excited bout it. My mom gets me something every year. She either gets me a stuffed animal and some candy or she gets me some flowers. I hope she gets me something good this year. I have a boyfriend that I’ve been dating for a year so I hope he gets me something also. I’m taking him out to eat and to the movies, and I’m also making him so heart shaped cookies. I’m also going to make my mom some too. We are out of school Friday and Monday so I’m going to go mud riding. I know I’m always bringing up mud riding but it is so much fun! I also want to post about what I’m reading in my English four class. We are reading a book called Jane Eyre. It started out boring but as I got into the 4th and 5th chapter it started getting better so if you ever want to read a book try that one. Well I will be posting about a lot more stuff later on so feel free to post a comment on my things and I will go and comment on your blogs also.

My Government..

I am posting about my local government. Our mayor of Minden is Bill Robertson he has been mayor since 1990. He was born in 1938. The city council is the legislative body of the city of Minden.  We have a curfew here in Minden.  The curfew is 16 year olds and younger can’t be out past 12 o’clock at night 17 year olds and up can be. But a lot of kids don’t abide by the curfew and they stay out till they get caught but if you are 16 you can be with someone 21 or older and stay out as late as you want. There is an age limit on buying cigarettes and alcohol. You have to be 18 years and older to buy cigarettes, and 21 and older to buy alcohol. Minden is’nt that strict a]on curfew unless your out and being loud or disturbing people. But they are strict on the age limit on other things. But that is a little about my local government.

My Hometown

My hometown is a friendly town. Well some people are friendly but we also have some hateful people. There really isnt much to do around town, but there is one thing a lot of us teenagers do in town and thats hang out at the civic center parking lot. All we do there is hang out and talk to everyone. 

Another thing that a lot of us do in my hometown is we’ll go out into the country and will all get together and go mud riding. Its a lot of fun when is hot and feels good outside. But when is cold you have to wear so mat clothes. I work at a chicken place in my town and my bosses are like family that how small Minden is we get along with everyone and know everyone.

Our town is all about sports when it comes to football games at our school almost the whole town gets together and goes to the games and supports our football team. We have many of other sports but most people like football. We have movie theaters but not here in town we have to drive like 25 to 30 minuets away to go watch a movie or to go shopping at our mall.

We have rich neighbor hoods, middle class, and the poor. Most people think if you don’t live in a nice neighbor hood then they cant talk to us but I’m in the middle class and i really don’t care what people think of me if they don’t like me for who i am then oh well because I’m a down to earth person and nice to get along with.
